The Regional Tourism Organization Region Šariš in cooperation with professional photographer Richard Varga (@onesilentstep) successfully completed the spring photo contest SHARIS PHOTO 2026. This year the competition attracted many photography enthusiasts who captured the unique atmosphere, natural beauty, historical monuments, traditions and everyday life in the Šariš region through their pictures.
The aim of the photo competition was to promote public interest in the region, to highlight its tourist potential and at the same time to create a space for amateur and experienced photographers who perceive Šariš as a place full of inspiration. Authors from different parts of the region and beyond took part in the competition, and their photographs offered a varied view of the diversity of Šariš.
The competition was held in three categories 1. Nature of Šariš, 2. Wilderness of Šariš and 3. My piece of Šariš. The photos had to be up-to-date - created in 2026 with a specification for the spring period and they had to come from any place in the Šariš region.

The winners of the photo competition were awarded for the best works that most clearly captured the character and atmosphere of the region. The awarded photographs will be used in further promotion of the Šariš region, whether in online communication, promotional materials or in the presentation of tourist attractions.
The organizers thank all the contestants for their participation, creativity and willingness to share their view of Šariš. Thanks to their photographs, they managed to create a colourful visual mosaic of the region, which reminds us that Šariš offers many beautiful places, stories and experiences.
At the same time, the Regional Tourism Organisation Región Šariš hopes that the photo competition will continue in future years and will again motivate the public to discover, photograph and share the beauty of the region.
