Monika Polomská is a handmade artist who has been making art inspired by Slovak traditions and folk art for ten years. She translates her passion for folklore into products dominated by folk patterns such as flowers, birds, horses, butterflies and hearts.
She started by sewing cotton skirts, to which she added fabric headbands, bracelets and chokers. Gradually, she expanded her work to include T-shirts printed with folk motifs, which became a popular item at markets and folklore festivals. Some T-shirts are also decorated with fragments of folk songs, bringing an even more authentic touch of tradition.
„For he who upholds tradition shows respect to our ancestors.“
